Life at Grape Solutions: an interview with our Technical Team Lead, Bálint Pölczman

Bálint works as a technical team lead for the front-end team at Grape. We asked him to tell us more about his weekdays with us.

Why did you choose to work at Grape Solutions?
I was approached by an HR person who skilfully guided me through the recruitment process. When I researched the company, I found a very diverse range of projects and exciting, modern technologies. I felt I could further my knowledge here. In addition to the colourful, modern office, I also found the professional manager very sympathetic.

How does your role look at Grape, and how would you describe it in one sentence?
I worrk as a team leader of the frontend team. I'm one of those people who make what our designers dream come true. Every day I meet new needs and challenges that make the web more beautiful and usable.

What skills do you think are needed for your position?
I think it's mostly system-thinking and a willingness to learn new technologies every day. In the world of frontend, everything is changing very fast, there are always new trends that you have to follow.

How can you motivate and develop yourself at Grape?
Motivation and development are provided by varied projects. Each project is a little different, each one has something new, something challenging. Beyond the projects, the company gives you the opportunity to learn new technologies in different courses.

What are the three things that made you proud during your time at Grape?
I am proud to be part of such a great team.
I'm proud of the projects we've let out of our hands.
I am proud to work in a well-performing, Hungarian-owned company.

Why would you advise others to join us?
Grape has a great team spirit, it's exciting and you get to work with new technologies every day.
