Life at Grape Solutions: an interview with our Technical Team Lead, Gergely Lakatos

Gergő is the technical leader of the e-mobility team, we asked him to tell us about his time at Grape and what a typical working day looks like.

Why did you choose to work at Grape Solutions?
It was mainly the modern technologies used within the company that got me. The interviews themselves confirmed that there is an up to date tech stack at Grape that I am interested in and that is useful for my career. 

How does your role look at Grape, and how would you describe it in one sentence?
I work in a  lead software-developer role, which I would describe as a mix of architect and project management. The main challenge is that it requires both technical and leadership skills. 

What skills do you think are needed for your position?
In my opinion, it is essential for a lead developer to have both analytical and creative mindset and to enjoy working with people, as most technical problems will be encountered directly through them. 

How can you motivate and develop yourself at Grape?
My job comes with a lot of issues, which constantly challenges me and pushes me to find the best possible solutions. Moreover, as Grape is open to new technologies, I always get the opportunity to learn new things. 

What are the three things that made you proud during your time at Grape?
I've been managing our successful Mobiliti project for three years. Last year, our joint development won a special award for Application of the Year. On the other hand, I am proud of my group manager (TTL) position at Grape. 

Why would you advise others to join us?
One of the reasons I would recommend Grape is the good atmosphere on weekdays, and the cool colleagues. I have also been able to learn and grow professionally. Overall, it was a great decision to join the Grape team.
